For Scott, carpentry began long before it became a career. As a kid, he was always building something, whether it was forts in the backyard or ramps with friends. That early curiosity and enjoyment of working with his hands grew into a passion that shaped his entire professional life.

After high school, Scott took the natural next step by entering a 4-year carpentry apprenticeship program. There, he developed a strong foundation in the trade, learning the technical skills, work ethic, and precision required to be a true craftsman. Upon completing the program and earning his ABC Journeyman’s Carpentry Certificate, he continued to push himself further by returning to school to earn an associate’s degree in civil/structural engineering. This additional education gave him a deeper understanding of the structural integrity, design principles, and engineering considerations that elevate his work far beyond standard carpentry.

While pursuing his education, Scott continued to take on carpentry projects to support himself. Over the years, those side jobs evolved into a full-time pursuit, backed by more than 30 years of field experience. Eventually, Scott decided it was time to combine his expertise, passion, and commitment to quality by creating his own company.

Today, Scott Hodgden Carpentry proudly serves Fond du Lac and the surrounding communities, offering full-service home building, remodeling, and custom carpentry solutions. From new home construction to complete renovations, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, decks, basements, and more, Scott is dedicated to delivering work that reflects the highest level of craftsmanship and care.
